HOW COULD THEY HAVE DELETED THIS DAMN SCENE????

I don’t even care on a shipping level, okay; on an Arthur’s character development level, on a plot arc progression level, on Merlin’s position in relation to the noble characters level, on a PACING level, this scene. was. VITAL!!!! AAAARGH

the only possible way they could make up for this scene having been deleted is if they REDO it next season and have an entire conversation about missed parents simultaneously and Arthur explains to Merlin the importance of a sigil so dumb/child audience members actually Get It.
