Half a Life is such a odd episode when you’re watching TNG all in a row (like ya do.) Season 4 is arguably the best season, and you’re chugging along, gearing up for the finale and then, woah. Majel shows up and just ~acts~ all over that damn ship.

Not ONLY does Manhunt feature the revelation of “The Phase”, Riker’s subsequent delight, Lwaxana’s skillful seduction of Picard, and Data in a dapper suit, it also features the dress-like fancy uniforms and, I believe, the first time we see Dixon Hill. Rowrr.
It ALSO features fishlike aliens, but, unlike Schisms, does not suck.

I sort of ship Spock/Lwaxana Troi?
Okay, it isn’t so much a “ship” as a “Lwaxana following Spock around and bugging the shit out of him” type thing. Lwaxana has a habit of falling for reserved unemotional men like Picard and Odo, so she would adore Spock. During the TNG era they’re both Federation ambassadors, and it stands to reason that they might run into each other at a diplomatic function or something. She’d flirt with him mercilessly, babble at him incessantly, get all telepathic with him, try to make him open up and talk about his ~feelings, etc. And he’d be annoyed as hell but also maybe just a little bit tickled.
Also, it’s Majel. Creeping on Spock is what Majel does best. If anything, Lwaxana would be even more persistent than Chapel - the Daughter of the Fifth House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed is not going to put up with any soup-throwing bullshit.
This is… holy shit. How has this never occurred to me before? NEW HEADCANON.
Does… Does Ambassador Spock volunteer himself to fly that ship with the red matter to try and save Romulus just to have a particularly good excuse to get away from her?!?!??!
