I’m pretty damn sure that Salazar and Godric were hella gay for each other. My own personal Founders headcanon involves besties who had a big stupid fat falling out as time went on with lots of festering resentment and angst and stuff, and why would any of that have happened if they hadn’t have been totally super mega gay for each other in the first place, amirite?

Re: dragonlord voice, I think I must be the only person on the internet who doesn’t find it hot at all - it’s just goofy and overwrought for the most part. Parseltongue would be pretty great though, all the little manipulations of the tongue and the sibilance and whatnot.

Every sorting test I ever take gives me Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw but I’m SO NOT A HUFFLEPUFF because I am a LAZY BASTARD. I’m a *Gryffindor* because I’m *entitled* and a bit too righteous considering my own actions. I get Hufflepuff because I’m seriously incapable of clicking the answers that are morally reprehensible. And I get Ravenclaw because as a nerd (who sits around taking sorting quizzes on tinternet) I’ve grown up being told how smart I am and being forced to value it. But it’s not indicative of how I’d respond in a crisis or how I like to live my life or how I treat my loved ones.

That’s a tough call. I would say…

Yeah, let’s stick with Ravenclaw for Betazoids. Although, Lwaxana Troi is HILARIOUS and totally fits as the best kind of Slytherin.

I also refrain from sorting humans under one single house. The personalities are just so diverse! For example, here are some who I’ve mentally sorted already (strictly from TNG):
- Jean-Luc Picard, Katherine Pulaski: Ravenclaw
- Geordi LaForge: Hufflepuff
- Will Riker, Beverly Crusher, Tasha Yar: Gryffindor
(Though I will say that B. Crusher’s house is debatable… she could also fit excellently as a Ravenclaw)
- Vash: Slytherin

I’m not sure about Wesley Crusher. I can’t decide if he’s a Ravenclaw (intelligence, knowledge) or a Slytherin (ambition, resourcefulness). What do you think?

As for other species — onward!

No but see, okay, you have to go into this conversation with the following mindset:

• Star Trek is allegory
• The alien races of Star Trek, originally representative of nationalities, can be mapped to Hogwarts Houses, for fun and no profit at all
• Hogwarts Houses are a way to categorize things in a general sense, but each member of a house can possess a myriad of aspects unique to themselves, like Harry would have fit nicely in Slytherin or Hermione a Ravenclaw
• An individual member of a Star Trek race can belong in a totally different House than their race, as indicative, for example, of Lwuxana being a Slytherin or Rom being a Gryffindor

Ergo, I propose that Star Trek humans, as an alien race, on this level of allegory, are Gryffindors. Because they are the protagonists, duh. They care about exploring and learning new things, but they care MORE about people doing what THEY think is the “right thing” to the extent of butting their noses into interstellar warfare more than they really ought to. They care about including everyone and working hard to achieve their goals, but they care MORE about including the RIGHT people and if they can get away with an easy solution they’ll take it. They care about being respected and wielding power, but the care MORE for peace and thus partner up with the Vulcans and the races who will challenge them to better themselves. And, of course, if Klingons are Gryffindors, which NO QUESTION they are, I like the general history of a Gryffindor vs Gryffindor war, that gets eventually resolved by Kirk, the most kickass Hufflepuff who ever huffled a puff.

WRONG. Picard is a RAVENCLAW. His first duty is to the TRUTH! He gets archeology boners. He’s routinely distracted by science when hot bitches are throwing themselves at him. He’s biffles with Guinan, the ravenclawiest ravenclaw to ever claw a raven, because she was totally a prefect when he was a first year. Picard loves him some mysteries, to the extent that when he has enough rec time he solves fake ones on the holodeck. Picard loves his crew like family, possibly MORE than family, but he only ever gets interested in one of them when they can provide useful information. He was a passionate kid in his youth, but he was passionate about *exploring*, or otherwise he would have grown up to run the family vineyards. Picards wants to KNOW things, to the extent of endangering himself.

You make a really good argument for the “Borg = Ravenclaw” argument, but another thing to remember about the Borg — other than being willing to take ANYONE into the Collective — is that the members of the Borg are intensely loyal to the Collective. Yes, they’re programmed that way, but still.

Also, the Borg work like a beehive. Bees are yellow and black. What are Hufflepuff’s colors? There ya go. ;)

Daniel - Gryffindor, Hermione stylez. I mean, hell, he’s already an establishment-fighting, UFO-theorist nutjob, before Jack with any number of L’s gets to him.
Sam - Ravenclaw. Like, that is in no way a question. Favorite subject - Arithmancy.
Teal’c - HUFFLEPUFF. He’s extremely loyal, he works super hard, he values his friends and relationships, he’s all about inclusion, and he looks ~fabulous~ in gold and black.
Janet, Hammond, and Cam are all Gryffindor, yes of course.
Jonas - RAVENCLAW. If anybody is most likely to set up theory riddles for passwords, it’s Jonas. Besides, you don’t have to *be* knowledgeable to *value* it above all else.
Vala - Slytherin but of course. Slytherin in the same way that Lwaxana Troi is a Slytherin. This has the added benefit of Daniel/Vala being like Hermione/Draco with a canon lack of Ron. A+++
